autism votes!
Writing a quick note to all my readers out there. One of my favorite important sites that I follow is Autismvotes.org . You will be amazed at the awesome things that are being accomplished! They have just passed a law in VA. for people with autism and insurance. Even though this doesn't pertain to my family personally, I believe this is a real need for most families! Way to go Virginia!

ONE FOR THE MONEY!
"ONE FOR THE MONEY"
The idea of an inexperienced woman working for a bailbondsman is a great one! This is a movie that definitely needs to be continued! The reason I know this is I have read most all of Janet Evanovich's books. I have read 17 of them. The movie shows how her clumsy hilarious mistakes can teach her what not to do in capturing criminals. Fortunately she has wonderful people to help her out like the neighborhood hooker, Ranger in which I call the mysterious Batman and good ole sexy Joe, a blast from the past!
The trouble with reading the book first is that you have your own image of who the character looks like. I honestly think the casting of characters in the movie doesn't match the books. Don't get me wrong. I liked the movie and can't wait to see the next one. I give this movie 3 stars with high hopes that the next one will be twice as good.

Autism and Cod liver oil
Since I work and have personal experiences with autism, I was doing some research on Cod Liver Oil and Autism. It seems that fish oils are generally good, but Cod Liver Oil has a specific ingredient in it that improves Autism! The feedback I noticed from parents were that they saw a difference within hours from repetitive behaviors. I also found out that it is good for your bones, skin and Osteoporosis which I have. There was one warning I did see. You shouldn't have too much of it. I went to the drugstore and bought the lowest dose. I came home and did some more research about interactions with medicine. I couldn't believe it! It interacted with my son's Enalipril! Since I know that he takes a low dose, I called the cardiologist and I am anxiously awaiting her approval. If you have any comments or opinions on this subject please share.

The Sickness
The Sickness
It's a disease.
Nobody can cure it but you.
The disease makes you weak
and because of it,
you end up hurting people too.
You know you hurt the ones you love,
but that was not your intent.
The hurt grows
so you end up being distant.
The disease gets worse.
You feel angry, hurt and cold inside.
"WHERE IS GOD?" you say
and then ......you pray.
You finally realize, you are sick
This can't be cured with just a quick fix.
You then realize your loved ones were there all along,
And so was GOD..when you weren't so strong.

Poetry of the week
The Man from Oklahoma
There was a young man from Oklahoma
He met a young girl from Tacoma
Though he loved her very much
She did not let him touch
Because he had too much Aroma!

traditions and chocolate
There was once a little girl who loved chocolate so much she couldn't live without it! When she was but a young teen she used to sneak very quietly into her mothers bedroom. In that bedroom beside her mothers bed was her bedside table and on this table lay extremely expensive chocolate that her mother would get sometimes just for adults her mother would say. The little girl would take one careful bite and relish it in her mouth.
Later on as the girl became older she settled for munching on dark chocolate chip morsels everyday at her job. Her boss would tell her she would get fat but she never did. At this time in her life her family still did stockings and her mother would always get Godiva chocolate in her stocking and she would always get a special dark candy bar in hers.
Years later now a mother of her own, she needed a job. She decided to go to Godiva. Low and behold she got the job. It was just like being in the movie "Charlie and Chocolate Factory." She could taste all the different chocolates and she got a discount. She had also learned to spread the joy of loving chocolate as she learned it was good for the heart. She was able to buy her whole family Godiva and everyone loved it!
Little did they know her preferences for chocolate got even more picky. She loved the dark chocolate raspberry truffles, the white chocolate raspberry stars, even the milk chocolate almond raindrop. One day she decided her life was too much working at Godiva and she stopped. She never knew how much she would miss her specialty pieces of dark chocolate. To this day she still gives a little chocolate to everyone she loves.

They didn't see
Handicapped or not handicapped? That is the question. I firmly believe YES is the answer! From the moment he was born, people used to say he is normal. He just has a few issues. His family members that didn't live with him said, "Look at him. I don't see anything wrong with him." They didn't see "how" he answered questions and how he would just have a one-sided conversation. They didn't see his autism.
Later on in life after at least 7 surgeries people still said, "He just has issues. It's not like he's in a wheelchair!" They didn't see how he couldn't go out for the soccer team because his heart rate didn't register on the stethoscope at school. They didn't see under his shirt how his sternum was against his heart. They didn't see how he runs and covers his ears when a train or loud noise bothers him.
After the 7th surgery, I got a handicapped sticker from DMV. Here it is years later, and I still see people say, "He's not handicapped. That is just wrong." They don't see the spacial judgements he makes. They don't see how he tries to run in the house while being 6'1.
If DMV believes a person to be handicapped wether they are in a wheelchair or not, I agree with them. If you have had to have major support services throughout your life, for you to get where you are at, that seems to me like a valid reason for being handicapped. There is more to being handicapped than a person in a wheelchair or a person without limbs. Handicaps are sometimes hidden so next time don't be too quick to judge the unknown.
